La Payunia

Its main attraction is given by the vast meadows of lava with volcanic cones, the volcano Payún Matrú stands out, showing the patagonic ecosystem in Mendoza. Basalt formations and piro classic camps of diverse colours, paste on the landscape an unique and singular beauty of the scenery.The loneliness of this place attracts numerous species of the original fauna, distinguishing  the guanaco, presenting heards of  11,000 specimens.

Visits can be made all year round, only with authorized guides by the Malargue Tourism Directory. Other activities are developed such as trekking, photografic safaris, sightseeings of the fauna, cross country in 4X4 by authorized roads and horse back rides.
