Castillos de Pincheira

 

To the  west of the city at approximately 27 km through the Fortín Malargue street   You will find a  monument carved by the erosive action of nature,  mainly  glaciers, it  has peculiar characteristics. It resembles a huge castle, with its towers surrounded by cones made out of sedimentary material,  you can find the Malargue river flowing at its feet and at a few meters away the clear Pincheira spring. Tradition tells us that these lands were the refuge of the “caudillo”( outcast) Pincheira and its fellowmen, they performed spectacular scapes at the end of last century., Nowadays in its surrounndings you can find arrow heads and the remains of indian ceramics.
